Mission Viejo is considered one of the largest master-planned communities ever built under a single project in the United States. Mission Viejo is suburban in nature and culture. The city is mainly residential, although there are a number of offices and businesses within its city limits. The city is known for its tree-lined neighborhoods, receiving recognition from the National Arbor Day Foundation.
Lake Mission Viejo is a beautiful, 124 acre, fresh water lake, 15 miles from the coast in Orange County, Southern California. The lake was opened to members of Mission Viejo in 1978. There are 2 beaches at the lake featuring sandy areas, volleyball, playgrounds, fishing, snack bars. The lake provides boat rentals and club house rental for its members and hosts the Lake Mission Viejo Yacht Club.
